The irrigation specialist, under the supervision of a senior superintendent is responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of irrigation system(s). The irrigation specialist is required to report any irregularities in turf quality to the senior superintendent. Duties include operating irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water, repairing the irrigations system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed, completing request for irrigation parts and supplies, grade and prepare soil base, lays sod and seeds turf areas, operate dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris, occasionally supervise a small labor force for system installations and perform other duties as directed by supervisor
